The casting number says it's a 383 and the stamped E383 is the code for a '69 383.

The sixth digit "3" makes it a 1973 model.

You have a 1973 Satellite 6 passenger wagon. It originally had a 318. It was built in Windsor, Ontario (Canada). At some point in time, someone dropped in a 1969 383.

That is all the information that I can give you, based off of what you provided.

What else would you like to know?

it has after market headers on it. it looks like its been played with here recently.its missing intake, valve covers.it looks like it was dropped in.and person lost intrest it will turn over with wrench on the crank.i dont like big blocks.but the 383 imo is the best. so i know its worth somthing.iv priced it localy to my buds, motor/trans+headers for $300. is that respectable price?

I would think that you could get a minimum of $500 for just the engine. Don't know which headers you have, so can't guees on value. Don't how how fresh the tranny is, but I would say a minimum of $150 for it.

Unless you have a small block and a small block tranny just laying around, I would would get the 383 running.

From the factory, all fasteners were hex head. So, the allen heads were added.

From what you have described, I'm confident that the engine/tranny combo are worth a lot more than $300. Sounds like he was building a sweet sleeper.

I wouldn't say that it weird that he didn't want to sell it, but had to. I had to sell my '67 Charger, back in 1990. I really didn't want to sell. I had no choice. I had the '67 Charger and my '68 Charger. I could only store one of them, when I was being stationed in Germany. It was hard deciding which to sell, as I didn't want to let either of them go.

I'm not sure about the front bumper. If John Kunkel reads this thread again, I'm sure that he will be able to tell you
