Question

I was thinking of doing a Po-Boy cold air kit for my 4.7 dakota, but there's a rubber hose coming from the airbox. It divides into a T shape with one hose going towards the back of the engine and another going underneath(not sure where, can't see). Can somebody tell me what it's for? Any help is appreciated.

That hose is simply the intake breather for the PCV system (Positive Crankcase Ventalation)

Clean air is routed from the intake box into the rear of each of the 2 valve covers. Since the crankecase is sealed, the vacuum created by the PCV valve (On side of oil-fill tube) pulls clean air from this tube to keep the crankcase ventalated.
