BB bearing question
Hi Mopar fans! This is my first post here and I have a question about the connection rod bearings for bb. For years ago when you buy con. rod bearings there was a little hole on the edge of the bearing to provide passage to the oil squirt hole in the rod cap. Why is it omitted in these days?
I use to buy the Clevite P series and havent seen it for years, so I have to make my own holes with a small file. Are those squirt holes unnessecery? Or do I have to proceed with the filing? What I know are this oil feed for lubricating the cam and cylinder walls. Hope someone have an answer. Thanks in advance. Charles. |

It is not needed. There is enough oil splash to the cylinder walls without it. Most if not all teh aftermarket rods do not come with this provision either. Use your time with your kids instead or find something else that needs doing. Mow the lawn or ---- take a nap.

Thanks DJM...that was the answer I hoping for, but I had a clue it must be that way...Ok, I take a beer and give the file to my girlfriend...she can use it for the nails.
