Hey, I was wondering how the hell your supposed to launch this truck from a stop. Right now all Im doing is going from a dead stop and just flooring it when the light turns green, But I get some SERIOUS wheelspin. Does anyone have any tips for me? I have 94' 5.2L Dakota. To much power for me to handle! Oh I have an automatic btw

Get wider tires =)
With 275/60/15's (BFG Radial T/A's) I turn 13.50@101.9 in a 97 Club Cab (Blown) Average 60' is 2.0 best of 1.997 (25PSI) on the street (Still at 25PSI) I have to give it about 1/3 throttle till I start to roll, then punch it... it starts to spin the tires again starting around 20MPH (more boost) but when it hits 2nd, it hooks |

Do you have a "sure grip" rear in the truck? If not, then that's what you need to hook up.

Defrag, get yourself a sure grip and some wider/softer compound tires. I can pull 1.91 60's on my rsa's.

While the supercharged guys can have serious wheelspin, your needs are different with a stock engine - don't look for sub-2 second 60 foot imes anytime soon.
A sure-grip and stickier tyres will help, but they cost money. Don't load the converter much when launching, and try to "roll" into the throttle as described elsewhere. Dropping rear pressure to 20 psi can help. It takes skill to get good, consistent launches, even with top-drawer equipment. Trucks have low weight on the drive wheels and poor weight transfer. |

"Sure grip" is the term dodge uses for a posi-rear. If the differential in your truck is open, then when you stomp the pedal, only one tire spins. If you have a posi rear and you stomp the pedal, both tires spin. My truck originally had an open diff and I could never hook up. After getting the Auburn unit and Firestone SS20s, I don't have that problem anymore.
