Default Rebuilt 360

This ad is in my local Craigs list, does this sound like a good deal? My original 318 in my Challenger is getting real tired and I would like to replace.

Completely rebuilt 1978 Mopar 360 ready to run! .030 overbore, new pistons and rings, reground crank .010 under, new cam, rod and main bearings, new cam & lifters, new timing set, new high volume oil pump, new distributor drive bushing, brass freeze plugs, new push rods, reconditioned heads(three angle valve seats, bronze valve guides, positive stem seals, new springs), Edelbrock performer intake, and 600 CFM Edelbrock carb. with electric choke. This engine is ready to run! $850

What do you think? Thanks

Sounds like it's worth checking into. Building one yourself would likely cost you $2500-3000 Like everything else - if the seller is the builder and you can see and hear it run, it should be a steal, but be prepared to partially disassemble it just to be sure it's been built properly. If it can't be run, and the seller can't offer you a reasonable warranty, just consider it a pile of parts, and it's still a good deal as long as all the parts are good.

I believe the 76 and newer small blocks had a different spacing on one of the mount bosses. JFYI.

I don't know nothin about that, I used a 79 block in my 73 Cuda without issue.

I see the only problem of a low compresion engine maing it hard for any decent upgrade to be done. Priced right though.

ALL 360's have a left motor mount boss that is different from the 318. Not a big deal to work with.

The l/h mount difference is easy - buy a new set of mounts for a 360 from your Mopar dealer (if he still has a Chrysler franchise ) because your old mounts are probably trashed (age-hardened rubber) anyway. Or go the el-cheapo route and get a stack of washers to fill the space in the l/h mount.

I would ask why it is so cheap.
