OK, this is sort of a dumb question but here goes. My Flowmaster cat-back vibrates the whole truck, even at idle, it's not bad just very aggravating. I think it's because of the makeshift hangers the exhaust shop used. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks, Joe |

I'm not sure, but you may be able to buy some kind of dampeners to help out. Does anybody else have any ideas?

My advice to you would be to use rubber dampers if they aren't there already. I know the exhaust on my ram uses them and there is no vibration.

I had this experience once when a shop installed a "custom" system. The problem then was that the pipe itself touched the frame, and the noise and vibration were terrible. I took it back and they fixed it - no problem after that. Solid hangers can cause this too, and they will eventually break from the vibration. Doesn't sound like the shop had much experience.....

Thanks for the responces guys, I'll look into getting a set of dampeners. Your right about the exhaust shop Fluid, they probably didn't know what they were doing, or maybe they didn't care, the really sad thing is that I got it done at MEINEKE!!!
I already had to make a few adjustments myself, one exhaust pipe was touching the spare, and a clamp was rubbing a leaf spring! Knowing what I know now I wish I did it myself, probably would have done a better job. |
