Electric fuel pump to run nitrous?
Hey guy's! I installed a plate style nitrous on my small block. I thought I was doing everything right for the fuel system. I ran a seperate line from the tank just for the nitrous 3/8" line, mounted the pump as far back as I could and below the fuel tank, non return line style regulator set at 6PSI and a low fuel pressure cut out switch set at 4.5 PSI. I used a Summit brand 7psi pump and it failed pretty quickly. The pump motor still ran but would not put out good pressure. I got another one and it did the same thing. These are both the rotor/vane type and the vanes appear to stick to the rotor. I thought about going to the Holley red but after looking at the on-line directions at Summit it appears to be the same as the summit brand- both have the exact same direction booklet and are identical in the pictures so I assume I will have the same type of problem. What other pumps can I use?

When I ran the bottle, I used a Holley blue pump. It was noisy, but effective; and it always worked (8 years on the bottle, every run down the track).

The nice thing about Summit is they take everything back...kind of like Walmart!
