I have Accell 8.8 MM Spiral wound wires, HP Cap & Rotor & also, their coil. I also have the Bosch +4 Platinum plugs...
They seem to work good together. |

Chris1070, I run Champion Truck Plugs and like them. However, I'm sure that there will be a half dozen different plugs listed on this post before it's all said and done.

I stick with nippondenso u-grooves now. I used them on my 92Dak and they convinced me to chunk my splitfires. I used them on my SS/T and felt a difference there too.

Hey Chris, I just use the OEM Champion spark plug. When it comes to plugs, I like to use what Dodge suggests. If thats what the motor is designed for, then its for me.

chris, you're gonna hear a lot of different suggestions on this topic. I chose MSD 8.5 wires and Autolite 3923s. Here's why: I used an ohm meter and checked the resistance of different brands of wires. Stock wires had between 7-8k ohms of resistance on average, Accell wires averaged around 5k ohms, and a few others didn't get much better. I checked the MSD 8.5's and they were at MOST 50 ohms. And we all know less resistence means more spark energy to the plug, right?
I was running Champion plugs, then I took a bet with the local dyno guy. I lost a $45 bet on the fact that he claimed I would gain at least 4hp to the tires by switching to Autolite plugs. (the Champions were < 24hrs old) He became $45 richer, and I found I had picked up 4rwhp at my peak, and 8hp throughout other parts of my power band. Summit sells the MSD's for around 65 bux, and the Autolite 3923s can be had for about a buck a pop. ------------------ Jon Smith Cary, NC 95 Dakota 4x4 CC 318, ported/polish heads, Crane Cam, MP PCM, 14x3 K&N, MSD digital 6 & Blaster SS coil, JBA headers, ASP crank pulley, Hayden 3710 fan, F&B TB, MPI intake, Crane 1.6 RR's, Hughe's dbl roller chain. 240+ rwhp www.fast4x4.net |
