stroker????
is it possible for one to have a 502 stroker out of a 440 rb block with a 4.15" crank and with regular lenght 440 rods?? i thought that to have a stroker you had to get different rods, not sure how much he said it was bored, so i don't know the bore.. also can you have a stroker with a standard stock oil pan?? reason i'm asking is i know a guy that claims he has a 502 and was wondering, that's just some things i noticed, like the stock oil pan, and he said it had 440 6pack rods... got me kinda wondering

A 440 bored to 4.38 (.060 over) with a 4.15 crank is 500 CID. If he went 4.385 (.065 over) he would have 501.4 CID and *could* call it a 502...
This can be done with a 4.15 crank, stock length (6.760) rods and a "custom" piston. 440source has complete kits: http://www.440source.com/strokerkits.htm |
