Looks like I'll be building a new motor this winter for my bracket car. I'm not to sure if I want to build a stroker or not. It will be a 340 with w2's that I just had repaired. The heads are opened up a little, but I'm not sure what they flow. They are the good race ones though. I already have a '70 340 block with a ready to go crank. Or should I do the 372c.u. I think that is the 360 crank ground down right? Then there is the 4.00". I don't really know what I want at this point. I liked my old motor alot. It was a stock stroke .60 over (I think, I had bought it from a friend of mine) 12.5:1 comp. (advertised, I never checked actual) with some Mullen heads on it. I never got enough of a chance to tune it before it let go (heads were apparently the Rain Bird models.
) but I know it was making power. Anyhow I miss it. My goal is 11.50-11.70 range. Car weighs 2850 with driver (67 Dart). I would just like to build a solid piece. I have'nt done anything yet except buy some h-beam rods at a swap meet. They look fine but I will have them checked thouroghly. Can you offer some insight? Thanks, Mike.
