Default Transmission Guru question

Trans question here. Can someone tell me if the line pressure adjustment on the valve body will have any effect on pressure at the govenor port? I am installing pressure switches on my 518 to shift into OD and lock my converter.
It is coming on way to soon. I have a Transgo kit in the valve body and have my line pressure turned up. Just wondering if this will have an effect.

All of the various pressures in the transmission are a percentage of line pressure, if the line pressure is increased all other pressures will too.

Governor pressure is controlled by road speed and throttle pressure, increasing the throttle pressure by adjusting the linkage/cable should delay both the transmission and OD shifts.

At what road speeds do the transmission and OD shift?

It goes into 4rth immediately after 3rd and converter locks and unlocks repeatedly at the same time. I'm am using this setup.

I have the line pressure turned in about 5 full turns on the valvebody per Transgo's instructions for a modified motor. I am thinking this is too far causing governor pressure too increase and throw off my setup.
I'm just looking for confirmation before I open the trans again.
Thanks

The only alternative is to find switches with a higher (or adjustable) pressure setting. The pressure switches are available in several settings.

Once again, at what road speeds do the shifts occur? The governor pressure should be approximately 10 psi for every 10 mph.

I think you simply have too much pressure at lower speeds causing your lockup and od shifts early. Why not take a pressure gauge and install it on the governor port and read what your pressure is at 45mph and light throttle. Then get the switchs to match the pressures you have?

I already have a 50 psi switch for OD, and 54 psi for lock up. 4rth comes on at 35mph and lockup happens at the same time. But it just locks and unlocks till I turn it off. I'm gonna turn down my pressure on Valve body and see what happens.

How do you have your throttle pressure linkage/cable adjusted?

Tightening the throttle pressure will delay the OD and lockup but it will also raise the transmission shift points.

I have it set where it does 1-2 at 12mph and 2-3 at 30mph. Any tighter on the TV cable and my 2-3 is way too high.
