To save yourself a line bore/hone, I would use the 88 caps.

if you dont use the caps that came with the block you will need to line hone the mains...

and never heard of a 360 hp block....as far as the blocks are concern..they are all the same...

That was prolly the last of the quadrajet 360`s they used in the 1 ton trucks with the dual snorkel air cleaner before they went to TBI.

Still, you need to use the caps off of the block they came off of.

An 88 360 would have open chamber heads. They would have the same 72cc chambers that all other 340/360 heads have. If they are 308 castings they will have a better port shape and would be prefered.

You will find that virgin the 340/360 heads up to the closed chamber and magnum heads will CC on the average of 70-72 cc's. They will all with very little work flow the same. Even in stock form you will not notice any difference unless you are getting time slips and the difference will not be as much as you think.

Confused

guess i got the pick of the litter the block that i pulled is a 1974 360, the casting number is 3870230-360-4, but the heads are using later style heads used from 76-88 casting number is AAWJ 3769974, what the difference between early style blocks and later style, are there any pros and cons to this block., i need some advice why would they mix heads with a different block, would this affect making a 4.000 stroker crank in this block or is it better.

wonder why it would be in a van?
