Default 340 overbore

What is the max you can go on a early 72 340? Its .060 now think it will stand any more? The core shift looks good on this block...

You can't predict the max overbore without sonic testing.

Yes, but history tells us somethings we do not wish our fellow mopar enthusiasts to repeat. Right John?!

Very Expensive!!! Unless it is a T/A block, or your matching numbers block it's hardly worth it! Sleeves will cost you about half the cost of a "NEW" 4 bolt block.

my other block has all eight sleeved. It ran at .065 for three seasons. its gonna take about .020 to clean it up. gave 150 for the whole motor just trying to save it.

Chris, what happened to it? I have to sleeve one as well. A guy I ran into said his lasted for 12 years of racing.

it wiped out a cam lobe and scuffed the cylinders. just honed it out and put .075 pistons in it. its only .008 per side. and i've turned this motor around 8000 its whole life.

I thought you were refering to sonic tested wall thickness or did you mean piston to wall clearance.

when you machine out a hole, you only takr half per side. so .015 would be .0075 per side.
