Thumbs down Rear Suspension

Problem: I am getting wheel hop and lousy traction in my 71 cuda 440-6pak. It has replacement heavy duty leafs and BF 255 radials and 391 gear. I am thinking the "Cal Tracs" mono leaf set up is the best solution without cutting things up. The concern is what will normal driving be like? How will handling be affected? The use is mostly for the street with an occational 1/4 mi pass. I also want to add drag radials but none are offered with white letters to match the fronts. I am making around 500 hp and can't really use it.

I have a 496 72 Cuda. The guy at Caltracs told me he did not recommend them for the street, but that may have been with their monoleafs. You should not have that problem with a good adjustable pinion snubber and quality heavy duty leafs like those from ESPO. My Mopar Performance HD leafs were lousy. I have ESPOs. I have Mickey Thompson ET street radials as well, which are very sticky, and I have no wheel hop. I had BFG drag radials and they gave lousy traction. First thing I would do is get the adjustbable screw type pinion snubber from Mopar, and set it to 1/2 inch from the body.

The adjustable pinion snubber should resolve the problem. If it doesn't, I would use a CE Slide-A-Link. It is street friendly and does a great job on the track.

I wonder if a B-body unit would work. Only difference is the wheel base and that extra part on a B-body is ahead of the rear suspension on the E-body.
Might be worth a call to see...
