Default #2951250 Heads

I have a set of #2951250 heads. I know they're from a '68 440 and have 2.08 and 1.74 valves but what is the difference between them and 906's? I would imagine it would have to be the port configuration. Has anybody ever ported these heads to give me an idea of what they're capable of?

I also have a pair of these, and they seem to have the exact same ports as the 906's, i haven't found one difference between the two castings...

If I'm not all wrong, the 250 heads originally came mainly in some '68 2 bbl 383's. And it's not the same as 906 heads port vise, rather the same as the older 516 heads, which is slightly worse design?

I don't know my 250's are open chambers and have the 2.08 1.74 valves, and the ports look identical to the 906's that are right beside it....

Yes, they are open chamber and with the bigger valve sizes. I actually thought the same, once I had 906's and 250's next to each other and thought they were similar in design, but was later corrected by others at moparts. It's been so many years, that I really wasn't sure wether it truely was, or wasn't a different design.

No they aren't. The older heads tend to be about 5% worse flowing on the intake side and worse on exhaust. There just isn't enough material in the right places comapred to the newer heads.
