Fuel Regulator Mounting Question
I have a Mallory 4309 return style regulator that I'm going to be mounting on an E body that feeds a small block. I already have a braided steel supply set-up for the Speed Demon carb that connects the 2 bowls to one inlet that points toward the rear of the car that I want to use. Where do you recommend I install the regulator, firewall, inner fenderwell. If anyone has a picture that would be great.

Return line
Is the key, here. You should keep that line short to prevent back pressure. I'd mount it near the pump, which is hopefully close to the tank.

I believe a regulator or fuel line must be mounted ahead of the rear of the engine. The firewall is not allowed as I had been told at the track. Mine is on my fenderwell just ahead of the carbs. I do not have a return line and am running a Holley Blue electric pump just ahead of my tank under the trunk floor.

Here's the instructions from Mallory for the 4309.
The requlator may be mounted at any angle. For maximum efficiency, mount the regulator as close as possible to the carburetors. Do not mount the regulator near exhaust manifolds. A bracket is provided for convenient mounting under an intake bolt. |
