Ported edelbrock heads
I have a set of used edelbrock 6077 heads that have been ported and have had some bowl work done also. I had these heads checked out at a local machine shop and was told that they are in good condition and I can just bolt them on. Will I lose a lot of bottom end power with these heads due to the porting that was done to them? The engine will be a 340 with 10.5 to one compression and a 475 lift hydraulic cam. I plan on using SRP pistons and decking the block to get the compression to 10.5 to 1.

If the porting was done properly, the low lift flow should`nt be hurt by the porting. So, one could actually gain low end with porting. Also, a good head guy can do wonders with valve seats to boost low and high lift flows. Do you have the flow sheet? I say, use em.
