Just got done watching it Bob, It wasn't a total waste of two hours of my time, but I don't think the Lady Director truely understands that it's not all about adrenalin that you do what you do, more often than not it's about brotherhood and duty. When you know you're better than most others, why should they take a chance on thier life when you can do it and they won't be in danger?

I'm old now, 56, but it's been a battle thru this whole war period to convince myself I've done all I could do, there's nothing more, accept it and allow the new troops to have their war. I have to admit, my last visit to Ft Campbell, I saw a look in the eyes of the troops there that I recall having given to the Vets of WW2... "You've had your time old man, it's ours now". The confidence was there to back it up, I can accept it. One thing that has helped me to accept it is a couple of troop I had are still on active duty (one is a LTC stationed at the Pentagon now, just returned form the sandbox last Nov), and they have told me to a man that things I taught them were of great value, were used, and passed on. When a retired COL tells you that you were the standard he measured ever other NCO he ever served with, and they were lacking, it's a pat on the back. Maybe I made a difference.

I also saw the Hurt Locker. I didn't like it. I don't understand why it won so many awards.

I liked it but also don't think it deserved an Oscar, I've watched TV movies with equal/more action and drama.
