Default holley carb issues

I just used the trick kit on my 4150dp holley, when i put it on the car and turned on the fuel pump, it turned into a fountain on the primary side. cant get it to spray thru the nozzles. now it is just pouring gas down the carb. where did i go wrong. I replaced the needle, diaphragms, power valves and gaskets. any ideas, i am new to this, never rebuilt a carb, and the kit didnt have shit for instructions, was disappointed in that.

I should say, that gas was coming out of the tube looking thing that sticks straight up in front of the nozzles, not sure of its name, obviously.

That would be the vent tube I believe... you need to set the float level down A LOT...

your float is toooooooooooooooooooooo hight

most holleys will have a screw that you can remove on the side of the bowl to check float level...

open it up and see if the gas pours out while the pump is on..

adjust floats down to where the gas is at the bottom of the sight plug...

just remember...as you adjust float down...the fuel in the bowl has to be moved out so you can see the new level...bump the car back n forth to get the gas to come out of the bowl...

there is also a dry setting.....went you install the needle and seat with the bowl off....it will usually get you pretty close...certainly wont flood the engine..

If it turns out not to be the float level I had a similar situation and I used the wrong gasket between the metering block and the main body. Most of the kits include two types of gaskets for the metering block. Mid point across and about 1/4 of the way down one style gasket has a hole and the other there is a notch, everything else is the same. If you use the one with a notch and your mettering block does not have a tube at that point fuel will just power into the main well in the body.
