There isn't a lot of difference between 273 heads and plain jane 318 heads ,unlees you look at casting # s.There wasn't any 273 HiPo heads. They maybe was some castings that came on HiPo 273's but they were plain jane nothing to them.If you check you'll see that all the heads ran the same valves as the 318 pretty much.Save your money and slap a set of 318 heads on whatever your building

Hey man, I have a set of heads I think you'll be interested in. Check in the ad you posted in the rear wheel drive parts for sale section and read all about the Ray Barton prepared heads.

The reason i want the heads is not b/c of the vales, but because the 273heads had smaller combustion chambers witch will raise my compression up!!!!!

Why not just mill a better flowing set of heads? The later swirl ports come to mind, have hardened seats, and are easily found cheap.

Thumbs up

Yes, he is right! Run some 302's. They have hardened seats, same valve size, and a 62.6cc combustion chamber, in theory. Same size valves, but can have larger ones put in. They are rumored to make over 50hp alone, just because of the design, and I know many people who have had great luck with them. later Joecuda
