When did MP come out with this?
I got to looking around at intakes, and I found this, and I hadn't run across it before.. The only Mopar Performance Dual Plane intakes I knew of were the M1's which looked exactly like a stock manifold only aluminum... This one looks very much like an Eddy RPM only about $20 more.... Anybody tried one?

must have needed them to support the 500 cu in Mopar crate motors! The regular dual plane must have been choking the motors?

Well the M1 single plane is and always had been a great manifold, the dual plane however was just like a stock piece.

Ya, but the power band for the MI Single Plane is 3000+, and you need the right cam, right timing curve, loose converter (if an auto), and 3.91 or higher gears in the rear.

That is a Edelbrock RPM intake. Just like the MP heads are same as the RPM heads with straight plugs, a little diff name and casting.
Just like my Mopar Performance Hemi heads are cast and machined right from Edelbrock....this is a good thing for us and Quality control. |

It worked ok in my 3.23 geared 440 with 2200 stall speed. I really don't see much difference in the low end with a dual plane in practice, with for exmaple a 440 you almost always have enough low end torque, no matter what intake you have in there. The RPM or the new M1 dual plane is a great intake, but it's not going to make much difference in a moderate performance engine in practice wether you have and RPM, Torker 2, Holley streetdominator, M1 single plane or what ever.
