Yea but a wall also stops you dead. What is in common is speed. Our bodies are only designed for 13 mile an hour impacts. Boat racing is the most dangerous of all motor sports. Downing is the reason. Air racing is second. Falling is the reason. No motor sport is safe. That is why we do it.

most wrecks at the dragstrip isn't smacking a wall head on though, if you hit the wall usually you skid down it, or flip. i think that boatracing is cool, if somebody gave the the chance i'd more than most probably do it.
