Default Over or under?

Renovating a kitchen: sink under the counter style or over? And why?

Personally I don't think I see an advantage or disadvantage to either.

If the sink is stainless steel I like over the counter, if it's cast iron or similar thick material I like under the counter. The reason: it's easier to clean between the sink and the backsplash.

Under, much easier to clean, just ask your wife.
My wife loves the under sink for cleaning, looks more modern as well.
