Default HP 2951908 vs LY 1851535 connecting rod

Is there enough strength and endurance difference between the HP 2951908 "Six Pack Rod" vs the std RB LY 1851535 for consideration? I know there are aftermarket H-beam rods superior to both, but the question is the Mopar factory rods.

Not really, because even though there is more meat in the six pack rod, they still use 3/8" rod bolts, and that is the weak point on any rod, unless they are fatigued. Plus they are heavier which makes the extra material almost useless... Now the Hemi rods had the 7/16" rod bolts but they were heaver yet.... However even the LY rod can handle a lot of power, not like the short cast rods of the competitors... LOL

The aftermarket high strength rod bolts really do help. The six pack rods are a bit stronger but for standard weight pistons they are still a bit weak for for high RPM racing. Lighter weight pistons make the biggest difference. If you aren't turning high RPM it doesn't much matter. With standard weight pistons only the "hemi forging" RB rods are strong enough. Slightly lighter pistons or lower RPM"s and the six pack rods will do. The standard rod will work if using super light weight racing pistons. My favorite RB rods besides the hemi forgings, which are RB length not hemi length, are the special high strength DC/MP standard weight rods made of high strength steel.

I have decided to upgrade to an I-beam aftermarket. I received an unexpected small windfall and what not better decision to spend on my build. The motor has light weight (500 gram) Ross pistons. My concern is the new B-1 closed chamber heads (65 cc) from my steel 452s open chamber (81cc) This increases compression from pump gas 10.25:1 to near 12.5:1. Comp Cams custom ground me a cam more suitable for the head upgrade. Though the lift is about the same duration has changed. (I was surprised that Comp Cams suggested less duration from 312 to 280 degrees mainly due to fuel change from pump 92 octane to E-85.) Because of the increase in head flow, increased compression and higher RPM range of new cam I am anticipating a 100-horse increase (From 500+ to 600+) So the only thing that was not upgraded were the rods. I'm guessing the LY rods would have worked but man it would suck if there was a failure there after all the upper end work.
