Default Thermoquad boggs.

My thermoquad boggs as the secondaries are opening at WOT. What is the adjustment to solve this? The accelerator pump is working properly and already at it's max. stroke.

Idea I am not an expert....

But boggs are caused by the air door being adjusted too light. I don't have the spec number of turns but it is listed in many books. I have a thermo for my dart and I had DemonSizzler in Atlanta set it up.

First, you need to go through this: http://www.moparchat.com/forums/show...ewpost&t=91806
Second, there's usually only two reasons for the "thermobog". One being the airdoor adjustment over the secondaries being set up wrong, as tarrbabe says. (For instance - never disconnect the dashpot/choke pull-off at the right rear of the carb - it dampens the rate of the airdoor opening) The other, (usually not an issue) can be the adjustment of the cam that lifts the yoke controlling the primary needles (metering rods). (Earlier Carters and Edelbrocks have two separate adjustments, the TQ is easier i.m.o. because there's only one) I don't believe the pump shot has much to do with the "bog"
All else fails, check out demonsizzler's site - it's very informative.
One more thing - these carbs will supply enough fuel and air for a fairly serious small-block, even if they have the smaller secondaries/800 c.f.m. rating. They just need to be set up right.

Thanks guys I put the choke pull off linkage back on and it made a huge difference out on the track. Was much smoother off of the corners without the bog.

Lightbulb JV...........Thanks....

Like I said I'm no expert but I have a lot of faith in the thermoquads. I'm glad you got the problem solved as most people that use them have years of unfettered use from them when they work correctly. They are almost as fail proof as the old AFB's and preform much better.
This is one of the reasons that I like this site so much. It's not there are more people here, but the ones that are are more helpful.
Three cheers for the Mopar Chat members.
