Default TQ's

I have a bunch of Tq [mismatched #'s] and assorted parts and pieces. And one functional tq, and probably the last remaining "Strip Kit" on the face of the earth [95% complete. I'm told missing pieces went into a coast guard carb 100 years ago. It was on top of parts shelf at Sawyer motors in Saugerties NY. for 25 years befor I got it.]. I hate to throw these things out. I struggled for years to understand how they work and I was sucessful at tuneing them. to this day the tq is still the most awsum carb I've ever used. Any ideas where tq's and parts go in the afterlife?

Default I'd contact....

DemonSizzler. He is a specialist for TQ's. He just out side of Atlanta. You can find him by typing in his handle into a web browser.

There was a guy at the last Fling (and the one before that) that was buying all the cheap cores by the wagon load. Someones got to know something about them, Demonsizzler is THE man though. I still got a basketcase hanging on my wall.

If you haven't found a good home for your tq parts, I could definitely use them.

You got a full size keyboard and lots of room, you don't have to use tweet-lish here. Makes reading and understanding easier.

Tweet-lish?? I believe Mr. Hiss does not have a comfortable command of English grammar. As well as familiarity with gearhead terminology. Which is fine by me, as long as he acknowledges these issues. Mr. Hiss?

Actually I don't know what any of you are talking about. Is the theme that Carter carbs are hard to find and service? Wow! things have changed alot. In my teen years Carters were everywhere. Because of the advances in Holley and Demon carbs I never even considered. Again I don't do much in restoring to orginal. I am taking a scrap yard trip to some large outstate yards. (I still love walking old scrap yards.) Might keep an eye out for some original components not just body parts and/or blocks.

Carters are now Edelbrocks (more or less) Although you're correct in assuming you won't find many Carters left over in the j/y. Except for the TQ, which, as demonsizzler (and myself) will tell you are a capable 4-barrel and easy to tune. Holleys and their derivatives (Demon, etc) are still being built, whereas Carters went away a long time ago. Anyways, anything with a carb is way behind the E.F.I. potential for driveability these days.
