Default 69 440 engine

im restoring my 71 plymouth roadrunner and will be installing a 440 engine ive had for many years. i need some help with some casting numbers on the block . date code is 2-25-69 front top pad has E440 with what looks to be a iron cross and a letter A turned sideways to the cross. if i have read some web pages correctly i think that means E is for 69 440 and the A means .020" oversized cylinder bore. also casting number on bock has 2536430-6 im pretty sure this means it was use from 66 to 72 and the 6 was how many time for retooling. but theres another number stamped on lower part of block reads 9c275386 can anyone tell me about this number . and any thoughts on this engine could it have been a 6 pack with steel crank? Thanks for your help

I'll tell you how to find out. Go to 440source web page and they have a very comprehensive listing and explanation of all the BB Mopars and how to decode the numbers. It's a very handy source.

6 pack or not, it would be a forged crank. At least if it has never been rebuilt.

The stamped number on ther lower block is a partial VIN from a '69 car built at the Jefferson (C) plant. In '69 Jefferson built only C and Y bodies so there's no chance it was a 6-pack. A 6-pack would have HP stamped on the top pad.
