Default ElCheapo 69 B body disk brake upgrade (disco tech)

I just finished up the drivers side install of my brake upgrade tonight and I thought I would share some pictures. The 11 inch unicast rotors are from Summit for about $70 each and the pads are High quality semi metalic units rated EE for those that know what I'm talking about. I went with new National bearings and seals even though the 2400 mile Timkens looked fine, and I just poked them into the bearing cups provided by the rotor manufacturer. I painted the exposed rotor surfaces with Duplicolor 500 degree semi gloss black paint to reduce the rusty crustys, and lightly coated all moving metal to metal (like caliper slider interfaces and anti rattle clips) with CRC moly high temp disk brake goo, the slider ways were previously dry as a bone. The original rotors looked to be junk yard originals from 1974 with no re-enforcing gussets, about .880 thick and in BAD need of resurfacing! The only issue I have with the whole setup is the front to back reversed caliper to clear the 69 style sway bar mounting tabs... I just don't like the idea of brake line failure common to this left right knuckle swap.

Thought about using a shorter flex line? Like one for an F-J-M car? And get rid of that big sag in the hose.

I will most likely run some braded lines in there, but until I get a good look at line flex at the extreme ends of suspension travel and steering lock to lock I hesitate to shorten that line.

Does anyone else here run their calipers in the rear position, and if so, how has it worked out for you?

That's exactly how they look in an FJM application, which is why I asked if you had considered it. I agree you want to confirm the range of movement before shortening the hose, however I'll guess the FJM measurements are pretty close to the norm for any rear-drive Mopar from the 70's-80's era. I'm in the process of upgrading my (J-body) 82 Mirada to late B-body 11 7/8" rotors and I'll take a pix or 2 and send them to you if you like. (I really like your rotors - are they avail. in the 11 7/8" size?)

I'de love to see some of those pics! POST THEM MAN! I got the rotors at Summit Racing, but I only looked for the 11 inchers... check their online catalog for the larger rotors, they might have them! I went with the 11's because they lower the unsprung weight and provide me with plenty of whoa, and I don't think the drilled/slotted rotors will fade much if at all...

Here's a couple details of the brake hose on the Mirada (J-body) Note steering at full right lock, susp. fully unloaded. Still play in the hose. (11.75" rotors installed - need 15" or larger wheels)
