should I buy a locker for my 8.75 diff
My 71 charger 440 auto has an open diff(stock 318 car). Should I go with a locker or install a limited slip carrier? I drive the car on the street and want more traction off the line to help launch the car harder with less tire destruction.

Limited slip (sure grip!) will be just fine. Locker would be overkill for a 318 car and a pain to drive on the street.

Might want to check out Auburn's electric locker unit - I think it acts just like a regular ltd slip until you want it locked. (I have had a std. Auburn in my360/999 8 1/4 for 10 years now - no issues at all)

I gave a bum steer with the original post. The car is running with a warmed over 440 mill. (about 400hp)
