Question Exhaust Headers

so, mud racing season is starting up and i'm lookin into a set of updraft headers for my 440. found a place online makes um and they sell demo headers that area 4 individual pipes upward for $150! they also have truck pull/mud drag headers that are upward 4 pipes into a collector for $350. what would the advantage be for the collectors?could engine damage be caused by running the demo headers? its a healthy 440 w/aluminum heads and 500+hp dont wanna ruin it.

The collector will give you a more generous torque curve, and help the low to mid rpm range.
