Hi fellas

long shot here but ill try..
My speedo odometer stopped working, I found worn worms gears, I've since found parts from a donor speedo.

So I have the plastic worm gears thats fine. Problem started when I tried to change the odometer from the donor speedo from 137000 to what mine read 88000 my was jammed up..
I removed the wheel and pulled it apart, to change it... now after I put it back together it starts to jam after 1mile
I understand there are small cam wheels and I can see how they fit a certain way so located on the gears inside the individual number wheels.
Is there a certain way or configuration these go together? its looks simple..but has me stumped..

Any help will be much appreciated.

It's probably jamming because the external teeth are not lined up with the housing. They are frustrating and tricky. If you stick with it, you will get it.

Thanks for the reply, I knew this would be a lucky shot...
Yes it is tricky, I've been extra careful with those external teeth. So far so good, I free handed the wheel and then run a drill......it's working.
Other wise ill be in the market for a new odometer wheel.

While you are at it
pull the cable, clean and re-lubricate everything.
