I have a 69 Sport Satellite w/318 and factory AC. The heater core leaks, the compressor seized, etc. I have spoken with Julius Restoration in So Cal and he told me that it was not worth it to repair it in a car that was not of extreme rarity and that fact that it would not work well. I would like to have my air conditioning and heat. Any experiences of people that have repaired their factory system or used an aftermarket would be very welcome.

Many thanks,
Chris

Man, it's attitudes like that of Julius Restoration that really get to me. Just because some of don't have 'special interest' cars, suddenly they're not worth fixing up.
It's a shame, really.
My 4-door 69 Satellite has AC as well, and I plan on fixing it.

I agree with the last post, get yourself a changeover kit, I hear they work pretty well.

After my experience with Julius, I thought that the air wouldn't be worth fixing. Having heard these reports and sat in car with a 318 containing air "It won't work well" my a**. I can take it apart presumably the heater core comes out with the four bolts into the firewall. Julius is part of the only mopar club in my area Souther California Mopar Performance West so that is not an option. Any suggestions for mechanics in this area that are well versed with this system. Many thanks,

Chris
