Question

Does anyone know what type of plastic a 68 charger grill is made of,and what type of plastic and glue are best for repairing. Thanks a lot.

Glue is not you best bet for repairing your grill. Get yourself some two-part epoxy. The kind you want is in the tubes, bubble packed by Duro. This material can be formed and later sanded to any shape or dimension you need. It works on bonding any two materials; alike or different. (eg.: glass and steel can be bonded)

Good luck with your repair. I believe there was an article in the last Muscle Car Review. (not the current issue) They did a grill repair on some brand X vehicle.
