Hello all, I just joined your group and hopefully with your help I can restore my '74 Plymouth Satellite :-) My first question is about the door locks. On the driver side the key will turn but will not unlock or lock the door. Being new to all of this, my first guess would be I need a new lock, but my boyfriend insists that I check all options before buying anything - can this problem be fixed or is a new lock in my future? And exactly how difficult will it be to replace? I am very anxious to get this problem fixed -
Thanks in advance! ------------------ Marie '74 Plymouth Satellite |

Hi Marie.Welcome aboard!
the easiest thing to do is take the inside door panel off.then you can see inside just what is going on. |

Oh yeah,if you find out that the door lock is bad,you can swap it with the passenger door.
they are easy to replace, just a spring clip. new lock sets are available from places like Year One.or a locksmith MAY be able to fix the one you have.Good Luck |

Pull off the door panel and see if all the linkage is connected. If the key is turning and nothing is happening, this could be the problem.
