Thinking about putting a mopar on a 3/8 mile asphalt track in Factory Stock division. Does any one have An Idea what kind of car would work best for this. Also need ideas on set up etc. Please e-mail me at CanaGRacing@aol.com if you can help

I agree with John on the E-body. Although I think you could use a 71-74 B-body with similar results. I run Grand American Modified number 70 at Tucson. It's the only Mopar that I know of running at TRP. Stop by the pit and we can talk in more detail. Sure would be nice to see more Pentastars running out there. One more point to ponder, if you have never run asphalt before, you need to be prepared to spend money......lots of it.

E bodies are great, but are pretty hard to come by for a stock car builder. Although they have a more narrow track and the engine doesn't sit back as far, A bodies work well also.
Various sizes of torsion bars are available, they're light, the front ends will hold up with a little reinforcement, and replacement body panels are not hard to find in junk yards when you need them. I've even seen B engines work well in these cars for circle track racing despite the added front weight. Tight fit, though. |
