Hello fellow Mopar nuts!I am getting ready to embark on my next race car project and have decided on a 66 or 67 Nova.(I hope several of you are not loading your guns at this point).Yes,I did say the "N" word, but this particular "Chebbie" is going to have a W-8 motor backed by a glide and I just can't wait to see those Chevrolet GEEKS walk over to my pretty Nova in the pits and see the confusing look on their faces when they see the little MOPAR PERFORMANCE sticker in the rear window. Please don't dis-own me guys, It is just my way of getting back at "those" people.I was thinking of a 64 Valiant at first, but, I think I will get more of a kick out this set-up.I am looking to go deep into the nines through the mufflers on a ten inch slick.(My last small block mopar made 700 horsepower+)Wish me luck?

Good luck with the project. Although I like the thought the problem with this kind of car is that you don't have a lot of friends in either chevy or mopar camps. Those chevys are pretty common, and you may find a rolling chassis inexpensively, but I think early Valiants are rarer over ther and would pull more interest than a Nova. A friend of mine used to drive a 440 powered Vega and a 440 Povered Trans-Am, but 99% of the folks didn't even realize there was something wrong. They just thought it was one cool and fast chevy.

I wasn't going to post, but changed my mind.
Please do the swap before you drive the Nova. It's front end geometry is so bad that even the chev guys put camber eliminator kits. I assume you know the front end is held on with a handfull of bolts. The cars drive poorly at speed. DartGT66 is not only right, he's got a couple of cars of much more interesting fare than most. I think you should re-read his post, as well as contact him. ------------------ Tubbed 40 Plymouth Coupe Tubbed 71 Demon 1989 Shelby Lancer 1978 BB ClubCab 1973 Scamper 440 MHome |

WELL WHOP DO WHAT YOU GOTTA DO. It is your car but I kinda agree with Dart. those chebby guys oops I mean chevy guys will only think it is a chevy, it wont be till they walk up and look inside that you will get your laugh. And think of the poor mopar fan in the stands getting ribbed by his chevy friends not knowing that N_NN__Nova is really powered by MOPAR and you just beat another MOPAR??!!
Just my opinion tho. I want everyone to know I am a MOPAR woman. ------------------ READY TO RACE!? http://www.homepages.lycos.com/Dart_Swinger/lyautos/dart.html.com |
