Hello, Can anybody tell me the gains the've seen with an alum driveshaft? I'm running a low 12 second car and would like to know what gains I can expect from my 450.00 worth of lightened alum. driveshaft?
Has anybody ever run the new carbon fiber shafts ? Any gains? Thanks Paul |

Maybe .05 with the aluminum shaft and another .02 with the carbon fiber. It might pick up a little more, but probably no more than a tenth

check out www.ws6.com its a pontiac page BUT they have alot of side by side comparisons on a chassis dyno(lucky dogs). in one of the comparisons they changed the drive shaft, I think from steel to aluminum to carbon fiber..
by rule of thumb anything that makes the spinning parts of your drive trane lighter ALWAYS gives you more power. Unles they break... |

The latest issue of High Perf Mopar has an article on aluminum driveshafts. I can't find the magazine now and I don't remember the numbers. http://www.hpmoparweb.com/
