As we all know by now,Darrell didn't win,but the thing to look at is that the Avenger/Hemi combo is now competetive with the bow tie bozo group, and Darrell would have won if not for him losing lane choice. The new Neon was on the ESPN2 show last night and the car is a 2dr,stretched Neon with carbon fiber body panels.Pretty trick looking car, should run very well in 2001.

Unhappy

Yeah Chris,,,,it's sad.
I was really pulling for him too.

If he can just get back to the finals,,I know he has the driving ability to win.

Let's all pull for the Dodge camp.

The bow tie bozo group. Just happens to to be champs of the class. Loss of not having lane choice is because your too slow! Win some finals and then gat all "HAPPY". Please; I'am sick of hearing of all the MOPAR what-ifs, could have, should have. JUST WIN!

I'm glad the cars are running better, because recently I have heard from a good source that Darrell has been considering retiring. He's in his 50's, and is a grandfather, believe it or not.

I miss the days when my friend worked for Dale Eicke, and I could walk into the trailer and shoot the breeze with Darrell between rounds.

I actually got to sit in his car in Virginia back in '97. Held the brake pedal down so they could torque the rear lug nuts.

Jushat,Look at the big picture,if that is possible for you to do so....Darrell's car is running just as competitive as the GM group. The Dodge people started off late with a brand new engine design and have it running in 1 year as well as the Generic Motors engine which has had 20 years of work.Lane choice was determined by a few hundreths of a second. My comments are what I belive. All you see is GM with all of the same engines, there is no diversity in the class. As soon as Dodge starts dominating again,NHRA will crack down on them as in the past.If you are such a GM fan,why are you here???

Yes, they appeared competitive, but what is going to happen when they are back around sea level? We can only hope that they maintain the level of qualifying that they had in Denver.

Dodge dominating Please.... Get a clue I call them the way I see them. Why I'm here is because I like Mopars, And its the best place so far for anal info that nobody else seems to have. Relax if you think I'am asshole; well I'am. I'am an asshole who races Mopar,Chevy, and has the time to talk to people who wants to go fast!

Hey Jushat:
Checked your occupation,,,,very clever.
I see the cynical part,,but what about the realist part.
I know that Chevy has had some very good stuff over the years,,,but don't deny Mopar it's due.
Back in the 60's ,,we had the super stocks,,,We ruled!
In the early 70's ,,,we had pro stock,,,We ruled!
Until NHRA decided that we ruled too much and added weight to the Hemi cars until Bill(grumpy) Jenkins could beat us in a small block Vega.
If someone piled enough weight on Warren Johnson's T/A,,,,he would not even qualify.
(By the way,,,,W.J. is a great tuner but a terrible driver).
Oh,,,back to the subject,,, Since the 50's and 60's until the present day ,we have the powerplant of choice in fuel racing.
The mighty Chrysler Hemi,,,,need we say more?

We are all just happy to see the Mopar cars in the race again.

Oh,,by the way,,I used to have some nice Chevys,,and I respect the power output of them,,there small blocks and big blocks really haul.

However,,,,, I found Mopar, and truly respect the power output of these engines.

Now,,,,maybe we can be nice to each other ,again.

Hope I didn't throw too much gas on the fire,,,LOL!!!

The slight improvement in Mopar is encouraging, and I hope the trend continues. I still call them the way I see them so only time will tell. No disrespect intended.
