I have been racing long enough without a line lock. And I just want to get some advise on which one to use and how hard are they to install. Some step by step would be great.I'm having problems with my car pushing pass the lights, because my brakes are backed off alittle to do my burn outs.

I use Biondos lock for a third year on the roll now, and no probs so far. I assume any brand is pretty much OK. Installation is easy, and you'll receive instructions with the equipment. Remember to buy installation kit (for example Summit #G3904), othervise finding the right adapters might be a pain.
Good luck, TeRo http://www.angelfire.com/mo/racevaliant ------------------ |

I have both the Hurst and Moroso line locks. No problems with either one.SB Racer is right about that installation kit.It saves a lot time and agrivation.

Some hook up the line lock to hold the
rear brakes. But I hook it up to isolate the rear brakes. This was I can fully control the car using the front brakes. And it is perfect control when heating the slicks. Their is no shock either. Good Luck |

NHRA rules say no line lock on rear brakes.
I hooked mine up right out of master cylinder and have not had any problems with it. (On front brakes) ------------------ Cameron's Racing Division of GOT NUTZ? I saw the NO LINELOCKS on rear brakes in some older versions of the NHRA rulebook - however I can find no rule to that effect in the 2000 book. I know some guys who use 2 (front/rear) instead of a trans brake. If you can refer to the 2000 rulebook where it precludes rear line locks let us know. |

Prohibited in Stock except on front wheel drive cars Page 62, prohibited in S/S altogether, Page 73,nothing in any other classes that I could find.

My vote for installing it on rear brakes too.
Much easier controll on the box. TeRo http://www.paalupaikka.com/racevaliant ------------------ |

Ran 4 wheel line locks for 15 years. With 11 inch rears and 10 front with kevlar linings, could leave at 3,000 with the delay box setup. Worked great. Had one button for burnout, one to arm the delay system. NO TOGGLE SWITCH. Used a diode to isolate them.

23T - right - I was referring to other than S/SS - I don't run those classes so never checked their rules section. Have a good friend who runs front/rear line locks with delay box - very successful - won $10K at the Moroso Shootout in FL one year with that setup. Lots less stress on the drive line than a trans brake.
