Question

I have nearly completed a 65 Dart chassis that I will be Racing in IHRA Modified ET. It is a full frame car with 2 x 3 frame rails, A arm front suspension and 4 link rear. I used a motor plate and mid plate and the trans is solid mounted. I built what could be considered a 14 point cage funny car style like a pro stocker. The motor is slowly coming along. It is a 440 with Hughes stage 2 heads, cam and modified M1 intake with Hughes custom pistons. They say it should make 585 horses. The trans will be a footbraked 727. Rear tires are 15 x 33s and 4.56 gears. My local chassis builder says the car should weigh no more than 2600 - 2700 lbs. with me in it and it should run around 9.70s After all that, what coil over shocks are you using and would you recommend them for my application.

My best friend has a combo similar to yours and popped for the Afco's. I use Aldan double adjustable's, and they work good. I do wish I would have stepped up to Koni's or gulp...Penske's. Spendy, very spendy. Check this out. Good luck with your project.

Having always goof up the cut and paste, I hope it works.

For overall cost, you cant beat the Aldans, they are very affordable and work pretty decent. Granted, they are not a penske, but then again you arent paying for a penske.

Konis are good and are between the aldan and the afco, then you have the afco and the penske is the top of the line.

But, once again pocket book comes into play. You can buy 2 pairs of single adjustable aldans for what just 1 penske shock costs.
