Question

I just read in the dragracing news group that Scott Geoffrion is quitting mopar racing. The post did not say where he got the info, if its true!! I hope someone can clear this up. Something tells me this has something to do with Nickins son tring his hand in prostock at the end of last season.

Anything is possible, and the deal with Nickens' son Bo getting into Pro Stock car has merit. He did qualify and Scott did not at one of the races.Hopefully it's not true.

It's official. Geoffrion's out, Mark Osborne's in.

Sounds like a parting of the ways between Nikens and Scott. Too bad - Scott was a good driver - but he was out last year for some time due to illness. Who knows!

Reading Nickens' statement, it sounds more like Scott was fired vs him quitting.

Question

I got the impression that Osborne was a Nickens customer when he ran Comp. Maybe that helped things along. Scott was getting thumped on the tree pretty bad at the end of last year too.

Whats Nickens talking about? Is he saying Scott lost the fire in his belly!?! I dunno, seems setting a national record would indicate to me a great desire to win! Sounds like a personality clash between the two men that may have intensified when Scott took the record. This kinda sucks.(It REALLY sucks!) Osbourne is right, the pressure is gonna be on-- not only him-- but also on Nickens! If they fall flat, sombody's a$$ is gonna get reamed!

Update:

Scott quit. He was not fired.

Look for more information to come once he lands with a new (GM) team about the past, and current going's on in the Mopar pro stock camp.

Things could get ugly....

It seems as this happened back right before Christmas.Richie Stevens is quoted as saying that Nickens contacted him about driving a couple of days before the holiday.
