It is in the National Dragster today that Allen Johnson's appeal of the rule that designates the new Hemi as the only engine accepted for Dodge in P/Stock was denied. Wonder what AJ will do now? It really chaps my shorts that Dodge went to bat for Nickens when he was running Olds DRCE motors but have successfully slit AJ's throat by removing approval of his wedge. Dennis

Allen's engine is pretty much the same thing as a DRCE,it's just a Dart Merlin block with Pontiac cylinder heads with "Mopar" cast on the bottom edge.Basically a GM engine!!

Allen has already been testing his Hemi engines, and when comparing them to Larry Morgan, it's running pretty well, but they still have some work to do.

Also in the National Dragster AJ has everything he owns up for sale, transporter, 3 motors and the car. It says, all new stuff on the way! From what i understand he has been workin on the hemi for quite awile. He just wanted to start the season with the wedge until the hemi was sorted out.
I agree with ya all, about him getting a raw deal from mopar ( if he wanted it) But i also think it is better to have multiple teams workin on the development of the hemi, rather than just one or two people. Look at gm they have many competative teams and most with there own engine programs. So AJ is a smart dude and may find something that nickens can't and might kick some factory a$$ again.
Wish i was going to the real super bowl this weekend, the PROSTOCK SUPERBOWL IN TEXES!!!
Good day to all!

Which issue was that in? I must have missed it.

Trust me, he wants the Mopar sponsorship back.
