Whats the deal with the 16 volt batteries? I do not want to run a alternater. Can it be used to turn the small mopar starter? can it be run to a msd 7al 2? And is the 3rd 12 volt post used to run the rest?

Forget the three post batt. Run the reg 16v. Your fuel pump and ign box will thank you. I run a 16v and power everything with 16v, from headlights on down. There is nothing in the system that can not handle the extra juice.

Interesting subject....What about using a alternator?? Currently I do not use one and I'm using a standard 12v battery.I'm going to upgrade the electrical system,so I may step up to the 16v setup. Is Turbo Start the only manufacturer?? And how relaiable and how long do the batteries last?? Do you have to use the special 16v charger??

I went to the 16v for the extra cranking power. A 16v system will spin a high compression motor like the plugs are out. Powermaster and others make alts, mine is a 130amp piece in a mini case. As far as I know Turbo-Start is the only co. that has the 16v system, and yes you must use their charger. I have had mine 3 yrs and have not had to replace the batt yet. Did put in new acid after 2.
