$400 sound about right?
or $200 Minumum, $600 Max? Half that for an "open" center chunk though..... All I know is that over teh years I've had to pay out the *@%$#%#%^ for good 8 3/4 parts (especially A Body) and a DANA should be prime real estate. |

If it is a Dana built for an E-body I think, at least from the factory, it should only be a Posi unit...They only put Dana rears behind 4 gears(you could special order it too) and they were always posi units.

If you can get it for $600.00, take it and go. $600.00 is cheap.

If it's a original E-body Dana,it's worth BIG bucks to a restorer. I've seen E-body Dana's going for $2500.00 in Hemmings and other restoration magazines.

Christopher,
Ya' killin' me. I wasn't gonna tell him that !!!!! I was going to let Cudatt buy it and then buy it from him for $700.00. The cat's out of the bag. Cudatt, If it meets the criteria that Christopher laid out, it is worth $2500.00 from a restorer's standpoint. Additionally, it is probably the best rear of any make you can get. GET IT !! later, ART |

I feel obligated to point out that $2500.00 is reserved for a piece in perfect shape. I am in the middle of, or really the beginning of going through a Dana 60 front and GM 14 bolt rear for a 4x4. I got them for free, and it is almost not worth it. You do all the bearings and seals complete as well as brakes with new springs adjusters etc, it gets expensive.
I did the wheel bearings in the 60 on my 72 motorhome, the 60's changed in 74 or 75, the 69- change ones are different from the present, the bearings are available, but 3 times the price of todays. I'd take 2500 as a high, and I'd price the wheel bearings, case and pinion kit, seals and brakes, then make deductions accordingly. I wouldn't use it unless I knew all was perfect inside, you take a chance and ruin that housing, and you ruin the kind you can't get anymore. They can be a bag of snakes, and expensive to update, but they are worth good money in good shape. ------------------ If it ain't a Dodge, it's a dog! Brian Mills |
