I've got a 383 that I'm going to bore .030 over. I plan on installing some TRW forged pistons I have lying around. The compression for these pistons with the 906 heads I'll be using is 11:1. Any idea what thickness for a head gasket I can use to drop this around 10:1, maybe a bit less, so I can run on pump gas?

What size cam do you plan on using?Just because you have 11/1 piston's don't mean you will have 11/1 compresion either

valve overlap will bleed off pressure depending on size....also listen to what speedy said about the compression ration..you'll have to measure and do the math to find the true compression ratio
