For BillyBob and others who may not want to use the UBB Code or who would prefer to use HTML, please read the following:
Okay, HTML 101! While there are several ways to go about this, one way is as follows. To change fonts on your signatures and text, basic HTML is all that is needed (note that not all forums allow this and/or the HTML must be enabled). Examples of basic HTML are (you can change the text to anything you want): This is what the "Arial" font style looks like. EXAMPLE. This is what the "Arial" font style looks like. ----------------------------------- This is what the "COMIC SANS MS" font style looks like. EXAMPLE. This is what the "COMIC SANS MS" font style looks like. ----------------------------------- To post with color, do this: This is what the "COMIC SANS MS" font looks like with color. EXAMPLE. This is what the "COMIC SANS MS" font looks like with color. ----------------------------------- Then, if you would like it to appear in bold print (Arial font again), do this: This is what that font looks like with color and bold HTML tags. EXAMPLE. This is what that font looks like with color and bold HTML tags. Even LARGER! This is what that font looks like with color and bold HTML and a size 5 tags. This is what that font looks like with color and bold HTML and size 5 tags. ----------------------------------- OK, enough of that...I think you should get the idea. Now, how to post a "thumbnail" with your signature:
[*]You need a digital picture of your ride.[*]You need to "resize it" (make a smaller version) and save it in JPEG or GIF format. There is software such as Paint Shop Pro or other software that will help you do this. DON'T USE A LARGE IMAGE AND SIMPLY CHANGE THE SIZE "TAGS"! [*]You need to FTP or upload the image of your ride to a server (this can be further explained if needed or you can find information regarding this in other posts).
Okay, now for the HTML code needed to add it to your signature. First, things you need to know:
[*]The "size" of the thumbnail.[*]The location, URL or link to the image.
Now, the HTML code (example of the one I use with an image link to another page) for your signature. Use the following with "font style", "size", "border" and "Alt" tags. Note that the image size has a height of "55", a width of "75" and NO "border". The "ALT" tag is simply what will be displayed with Internet Explorer when your mouse is on it. Highboy90

2000 Ram 1500 5.9 SC 4x4 Mods: Steel Cowl Induction Hood -- Pioneer DEH-P47DH CD -- Grille Matching Bumper Inserts -- Emblems & Lettering Removed -- "360V8RAM" NYS Tags And WaaLaa! This is the results below. Highboy90 2000 Ram 1500 5.9 SC 4x4 Mods: Steel Cowl Induction Hood -- Pioneer DEH-P47DH CD -- Grille Matching Bumper Inserts -- Emblems & Lettering Removed -- "360V8RAM" NYS Tags If you DON'T want to have a link with the image, the code would be: Highboy90

2000 Ram 1500 5.9 SC 4x4 Mods: Steel Cowl Induction Hood -- Pioneer DEH-P47DH CD -- Grille Matching Bumper Inserts -- Emblems & Lettering Removed -- "360V8RAM" NYS Tags PHEW!!! This gets a little funky to do with examples in HTML. Being it says that you can't use HTML code in the signature area on your profile, simply "copy & paste" your HTML code onto notepad or another document and save it (such as "signature") and simply copy & paste it at the end of your post. In closing, I hope I have made some sense here and didn't confuse anyone. As mentioned earlier, there ARE other ways but this is a style that works with most browser. It's really simple to do. Trial and error is normal. Regards, Highboy90 PS, if any of you should need an image of your truck resized, I would be happy to do it for you within 24 hours. Simply e-mail a picture to me at Highboy90@aol.com and ask to have it resized for a thumbnail. NOTE: Some forums restrict the size of the thumbnail. |
