It looks like Dodge still remains king of the hill in terms of gasoline engines, eventhough Chevy came out with the all new 496. Eventhough Chevys new engine makes 30 more horse than the V10 and five additional lbft of torque it still is slower and has lower towing capacities than the V10. The February edition of Motortrend recorded a 0-60 time of 8.3 seconds and a 1/4 mile time of 16.2 seconds, with a 2X4 single cab truck. In the August issue of Truck Trend they tested the ram 2500 V10 2X4, and recorded a 0-60 time of 7.6 seconds which is considerably faster than the bigger Chevy. Looks like Chevy wanted to give people the impression that the bigger engine was better. Not in my book.

What do you guys think, do you like the new chevy engine, or do you like the 10 better. Like to hear your opinions.

If I ever like a Chevy engine better, then I will sell my Charger and my Ram, and buy some 4 cylinder econobox and forget about the automotive hobby.

Kirkyg, I tend to disagree with you there. I think the current 1500s are a little underpowered and could use a hemi, but I think the hemis will never be as smoothe and as powerful as the 8.0 V10.
