126mph in my 90 Daytona V6 5spd computer limited--and it handles great at that speed(front struts are shot after 150,000 miles)
My dad said his '67 Coronet R/T's top end was 147mph w/3.21 gears. I'm thinkin he had it topped out more than once or twice!

In my old 70 Roadrunner six barrel, with the 3 carbs removed and a 750 cfm Holley instead, went 147 mph showing on the stock speedometer on Ohio Rt.7 along the Ohio River. I would have tried to bury the speedo, but on a round speedometer, that is kind of pointless, and that steering wheel was feeling awfully light. That flat front bumper on a 70 Plymouth B-body sure shovels a lot of air under the car. I'm much more sane these days, at least in some ways. The motor was willing, I just needed a Superbird nose and wing to stay on the ground. I kept to drag racing after that, let the other fellas play with top end.

Unsure of exact speed.
Superbird Hemi , Interstate..
Viewing speedometer as clock.
160 @ 4:00 had needle hitting peg at zero which would be 8:00.

Aprehended later that eve at bar.
Thrown out of court because Va. Highway patrol could not get close enough to ID lic plate.
This was in 1971.. Glad it is out of the blood now.

115 in a nice 440 powered '69 Charger R/T I owned a few years ago.
106 in my daily driver /6 '71 Valiant (before I took out the 2.76 gears)
113 in my '79 Aspen R/T 360-4 a few weeks ago. Speed estimated based on tach readings because the speedometer only goes to 85. Would like to run it to over 120 before I change the 2.71 gears for 3.90's I have for it.

75 in my ram! Whoo Hoo! Now that's fast for my truck By the way, as far as I know the speedos in those trucks only go to about 82-85 mph before they hit a stopper. Don't believe me? Take off the cover and spin the needle. It should stop before it goes over 85. There is a brass rod that keeps it from going over. My buddy insisted his needle hit the P in MPH on his 81 Ram. I made him take off the cover and I spun the needle and sure enough it stopped before 85. Some people!

142 mph in a 1970 Charger 500 with a mild 383 magnum. Speedo showed 150 but the timing from the mile markers calculated to 142 actual. This was in 1989. The 1988 'Vette that was behind me stayed behind and from 130 mph on up it's image in the rear view mirror just got smaller. And smaller. And smaller ...

160MPH in the bosses Viper on a very short Hi-way blast, never got near top gear.

Oh ya, he told me he had it over 185 once when he was out for a cruise.

From experience I can say it's an effort NOT to drive it hard. You need strong self control to take it easy in a Viper.
