i am still not clear whether the 180 t-stat will affect me getting heat in my truck in the cold weather? thanks to anyone who can help.

the heater in my 95 ram still works real good. i do not have any proplem geting warm. i do not think you will either.

The 15 degree change from 195 to 180 isn't going to make much diffence on how the temp feels coming out of your heater. 180 is still pretty darn hot in my book. If your concerned about it being too cool try inserting a piece of cardboard infront of the radiator on those really cold days.

Hey 96Ram,
I just installed a 180 t-stat in my truck along with some other modifications and I'm still plenty warm. It's been down in the low 30's to low 40's here in the morning for the last few weeks and I'm still nice and toasty warm. You should be fine. If you discover that you're not getting warm, you can swap back to the 195 t-stat for winter or you can get an auxiliary heater that plugs into your cigarette lighter. I think JC Whitney has them.
