The moulding under the hood that attaches to the cowling area keeps falling of my 95 Ram. I have tried everything, stopping short of having to glue it on to stop it from falling off. Anybody out there with the same problem or ideas to fix it?

hmmmm, my uncle whom has a 94 ram has the same problem, he used some glue to get it to stay put. Though that would make it a pain to get back off if you needed to.

Try using Permatex no. 80 Super Weatherstrip Adhesive. I've had the same problem with my 95' Ram and this did the trick.

Had the same thing on my 98...took it back to the dealer TWICE. First time they "snugged" it on and told me they glued it.

The second time I waited in the service area and watched them do it....all fine now (go figure!)

Your best bet would be to use a soft silicone to keep the molding from ever coming off during normal use but if you ever feel the need to take the molding off you can with the softer silicone. I urge you to find your local NAPA store and ask for the red tube of weatherstrip compound.
Best of luck

Well thanks for all the input guys. What I did was to look at the piece a little more closely and I took a pair of channel lock pliers and pinched down at the channel groove in a few places. The moulding has a steel insert and pinching it in a few places made the channel smaller. It just slid on tighter and it has not fallen off since. Again thanks.

It will though Hoov,
I work at a dealership and have seen
literally hundreds of these cowl seals
lying on top of the engine when you open
the hood. The problem is that the crimped
portion of this seal sandwiches the metal
on the firewall and the plastic on the cowl
moulding. There appears to be enough movement
between these two to cause that crimp to work
itself loose. The best solution we have found
is to fold the seal portion at each end back
enough to drill a small hole through the crimp and into the metal and then install a
sheet metal screw. When your done the soft part of the seal covers the screw.

Thanks for the screw idea RAMMAN. I glued and cussed mine. I think the screw is the way to go.
